Pre-Budget Proposal: DASH Moving Billboard

M

This thread is,
...for the sole-purpose of determining the feasibility and community acceptance
....of a 'possible' Budget Proposal: DASH Moving Billboard

I would take my car and get it wrapped in full vinyl to create a moving Billboard for DASH

Coverage area would mostly be in East Central Indiana, USA

Looking at local graphx companies, it appears cost would run between : 540 - 625DASH at the current rate of $2.40USD/DASH

Additional funding will be needed for the Graphx Design Artist : [yet to be determined]
I am currently seeking the interest of a particular graphx design artist, long-time and well-known DASH member [name currently withheld]
BUT
If 'anybody' would like to submit a design for the Moving Billboard, I have included a blank canvas below.
[constructive criticism is also welcome and appreciated]

Here are the links/images needed to create your design and don't forget to include your requested payment in >>> DASH

2015 Chevy Spark

[post your submission(s) to this thread]

YES - That means, YOU - the winner of the design, will be paid,
....in the amount publicly requested, at the time of submission
....IF the proposal is accepted and voted YEA by the DASH Community

Choice of the design, will be favorable to, the "lowest bidder", to submit any design,
but... ....over-all, best design will be chosen, at the least possible cost

Don't forget to include your asking price.....

[while only 1 entry can win, I reserve the right to subdivide this project into >>> FRONT - L-SIDE - R-SIDE and REAR images to create the whole wrap. In the event of using, less-than all sides, of any particular submission, of any design, payout will be subdivided into 25% per view, of total requested payment, of any submission chosen, in DASH]

example:
Design #8: 2 views used = 50%
Design #3: 1 view used = 25%
Design #6: 1 view used = 25%
or
Design #7: 4 views used = 100%

* I will not submit any design(s) for this project, to remain neutral and unbiased but, additional graphx will be added to any design chosen, to include but not limited to: dashpay.io QR code(s), DASH website info, pertinent informational text... etc etc

* The warp will be remain on the vehicle for a period of at least one (1) year or until it becomes necessary to alter and/or is significantly damaged [will have to consult my vehicles insurance policy, it might be covered]

Everything that we do is based upon the square footage of the vehicle, so I will give you a range of the cost. It will also be based upon whether or not you will need perforated film on the window.
Your range will be from $1,500 to $1,900.
Just let me know if you need anything else from me.

Thank you,

It is too expensive...

Why not to start with ordinary printed A4, attached to the rear window?

good idea
but i (personal) think
If this was in LA, NYC, or San Fran it would make sense,
but out in Indiana (no offence) i do not really see/feel this

It fact simple inexpensive car stickers (not expensive aero-graphy!) maybe very affective way of promotion (When Dash will become ready for general users: easy mobile wallets, easy (one-page "visit-download-buy") website, ... for big cities.

We have example of such campaigns in Russia: HUNDERENDS of peoples print in nearest typography stickers, approved by company (it finished as scam though ) - than place it themselves on their cars and get compensated ($) for it, depending on:
1. video-proof on car with stickers on carwash every month (special required sing in each video as a proof)
2. How many miles they are driving a month.
3. How expansive their car is.
4. How big their city is.

Here are examples:

Dash supporters can place such stickers for free - we just need to support them with good design for stickers they can print in nearest typography themselves (and with manual "how to place sticker with highest quality").

Stickers that you can see on this video cost (in Russia) approximately 25 USD (4 stickers for 1 car).
If car owner can't place it himself - service to place it professionally costs approximately additional 25 USD.

Ok - so - I figured the full car wrap would fail - but - at least a conversation has started.....

I'd be okay with 'stickers' per sa but not REAL stickers that are !never! gonna come off.....

Hows about thin magnets?
Easily applied and removed from any metal body...............sorry Corvette owners...
and/or
Thin vinyl transparencies applied to the inside of any window?
again...Easily applied and removed....

Partial external vinyl is also possible - but - I have learned that this is costly at any level for a singe vehicle.

Cost strongly depends on number of impressions.
Maybe it is reasonable to form 1 common centralized typography order (let's say for 100 cars) - at least for particular country/language (USA/English?)...

So the first stage - attract car owners who is ready to place DASH for free... :)

Indiana huh?

It's kinda funny but Dogecoin actually did that for those who didn't know.

Here is the AMA Josh Wise did on reddit, he is the driver of the car.
http://www.reddit.com/r/dogecoin/comments/21grog/hey_im_josh_wise_and_ill_be_driving_the_nascar/

You can see how excited he is about the sponsor. Here is a washington post article that hit after the sponsorship.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...coin-car-again-thanks-to-two-new-fundraisers/

So how much is it to sponsor a nascar race? I have no idea but if Dogecoin community can do it we can do it, especially if it's part of a proposal.

I do like that thought.....

Each month have a new budget proposal for a 'local' DASH Manager
USA-CND/EN -
UK/EN -
RUS/RS -
EUR/SP -
EUR/FR -
EUR/GR -
etc
etc

Could be a good - year long project.....
If we could find a centralized supplier - say from Honk Kong where most shipping is dirt cheap if not free, from my experience(s) at least...

----
Yep - Indy
The track is practically in my back-yard - lol

I'm getting suspicious of who was behind Doges promotion but that's another story.

Could be worth considering demographics, NASCAR would get wide US coverage but very little in Europe and its a very general audience, whereas with less popular series you could expect a similar number of new users from the same kind of budget but more specific groups.

Another advantage is the more grass roots you go the more face to face things become, you're rarely going to get the opportunity to ask a NASCAR or F1 driver what this Dash thing's all about but get it on a club level drifters car and the whole field will know what it is after a few events and a good number of their friends and family after a season.

Imo the best series to target would be endurance and in particular classics, lower coverage but less susceptible to hype and trends and very little snobbishness in the classic classes. Just a thought is all :)

Well, may we look on the other side?:

Is here anybody (except MangledBlue) who is ready to place DASH stickers on your cars (for free)?

And what kind of stickers would you prefer?

P.S. Sorry, I am not in the game - we soon may be under threat of 4-years-arrest for everything related to crypto (in Russia).

Yup, it's all in the community, crowning. That shows ya, we need to up our game.

I HATE stickers on my car. I really do. I don't like to stick out when I'm driving around. Now I ask myself, would I do this for Dash? Oh dear, I"m not a good Dash Patriot! Ugh! I don't know! Maybe I'd put it on my husband's car? LOL. If you can get me to put a sticker on my car, you can get anyone to do anything, so there, I've opened myself up :p

But you all may not want me to anyway, I'm the epitome of grunge. My car is an old VW van, LOL. With dings and dents and all.

Actually, the Indy 500 demographic is shockingly close to our target audience:

"Moar Freedom!"
"Fuck the Govment!"
"Main Street, not Wall Street!"
"Free Beer!"

Wow, reminds me of woodstock, if I'd only known! LOL. Time to go!

of course the Indy 500 has it's roots in bootlegging. The fast supped up cars that outran police to deliver alcohol the the people :)
